Shane Warne allegedly assaults adult film star in London bar
What's the story?
Former Australian spinner Shane Warne has been accused of assaulting adult film star Valerie Fox in a bar in London on Saturday night.
According to eyewitnesses and Valerie herself, Warne hit the model on her face at the famous bar Loulou’s in Mayfair, central London.
Fox reported the incident to the police and took to social media platform Twitter to share the news with her followers.
Her first tweet read: “Proud of yourself? Hitting a woman? Vile creature.” and followed that up with a picture of her bruise with the caption reading “And no, I’m not lying. Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you can hit women and get away with it.”
In case you didn't know...
This is not the first time Warne has been involved in a controversy which concerns a woman. Back in 2005, he split with his then-wife Simone before they reconciled in 2007 only to split again after Warne sent a text to her which was intended for somebody else.
He was also engaged to British star Elizbeth Hurley after being involved in a relationship with her for three years before splitting up.
He has also been involved in a lot of cricketing controversies back during his playing days. He was banned from participating in the 2003 World Cup after consuming a banned substance.
The details:
The 31 year old adult film star was seen leaving the bar covering her face after the incident. According to witnesses, she fell to the floor after being hit by the Aussie.
The police, who are currently investigating the incident are trying to gather the CCTV footage if any, for further evidence.
“Detectives are investigating an allegation of assault alleged to have taken place in a nightclub on Hertford Street in Westminster in the early hours of Saturday. There have been no arrests and inquiries continue,” said Scotland Yard last night.
What's next?
Warne, who is currently a commentator with the Sky Sports commentary team in the UK could face the possibility of losing his job due to this incident.
Author's take:
Warne has been involved in a fair share of controversies but If the reports are true, this would be a new low for the former cricketer.
Assault is a serious offence and Warne could face a severe punishment once the police are done with their investigation.
