Shingi, Chakabva axed from Zimbabwe squad

Brendan Taylor will lead Zimbabwe in the bilateral ODI series against India starting on July 24 at Harare. Taylor is expected to don the wicket-keeping gloves too after specialist wicket-keeper, Regis Chakabva was dropped from the 16-man squad. Fast bowler Shingi Masakadza,who picked up five wickets in the two ODI’s against Bangaldesh in May was also left out along with Tinashe Panyangara.

Meanwhile, Pakistan born cricketer Sikander Raza, who marked his debut against Bangladesh, has been included in the squad. Raza compiled  63 runs in 3 games in Zimbabwae’s 2-1 ODI series triumph over Bangladesh.
The bowling department is packed with as many as five fast bowlers including Kyle Jarvis, Tendai Chatara, Brian Vitori, Elton Chigumbura and the uncapped Michael Chinouya.
The first three matches of the series will be played at Harare before the teams shift to Bulawayo for the last two games.
