This time though, the auction is not a mega auction like the previous one. Most of the teams are looking to fill in some spots in their team and some teams like the Kings XI Punjab are almost bidding for a new team.

The IPL auction took place at the Marriot hotel in Jaipur in Rajasthan. The IPL Auction this time was quite exciting as there were some surprises in the bags. There was quite a buzz that this 25-year-old player could spark a bidding war and might become the most expensive uncapped player. He may not have become the most expensive but became the second most expensive uncapped player. Shivam Dubey who plays for Mumbai in the domestic circuit went to Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping INR 5 crores. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are the other two franchise that tried to purchase him in the auction.

Shivam Dubey is one of the rare commodities in India as he is a fast bowling allrounder. He can hit sixes quite easily and has showcased his abilities in the domestic matches. In a recent match where Mumbai faced Baroda, he hit Swapnil Singh for 5 sixes in an over. There are huge expectations from this young lad. A good performance in the IPL will make his case for the Indian Team as a good fast bowling all-rounder is something which Indian side would welcome anytime.
