Shoaib Akhtar wants to play for Sachin Blasters in the upcoming Cricket All-star series

Sachin-Shoaib rivalry is considered as one of the biggest in the game

According to IBN, former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has communicated his desire to play for Sachin Tendulkar’s team, ‘Sachin Blasters’, in the upcoming ‘Cricket All-Star’ tournament. The exhibition T20 series headed by Shane Warne & Sachin Tendulkar is set to be held in the US this November. Shane Warne’s team has been named ‘Warne Warriors’.

The first match of the T20 tournament will be played on 7th November at Citi Field in New York while the second T20 has been scheduled for November 11 at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The third T20, which will be the only match to be played under floodlights, will be held at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ wants to be in Sachin’s team at the tournament, as he said, because he has had enough battles with the batsman, and now wants to find out the result of pairing up with him. He also conceded that everyone in India wants him to face Sachin.

Akhtar stated his views in a talk-show on StarSports, “I hope Sachin picks me in his team. Sachin, I request you, I am done battling with you, please pick me in your team. I know that every Indian wants to see me opposite you but please pick me in your team," the pacer said.

A number of legendary players have agreed to take part in the three-match T20 tournament, which is set to take the cricket fans on a trip down memory lane. Notably, players such as Brian Lara, Lance Klusener, Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Carl Hooper, Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden will try to dazzle the United States with their batting feats.

On the other hand, legendary bowlers like Wasim Akram, Courtney Walsh, Glenn McGrath, Alan Donald and Shoaib Akhtar will try to excite the fans once again with their bowling.

Star Sports tweeted the video of Shoaib Akhtar requesting Sachin himself in a talk show. The tweet can be seen here:

Virender Sehwag was the latest addition to the All-stars league, who joined Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Ajit Agarkar and Sameer Dighe as the retired Indian internationals who will be featuring in the cricket series. Of all these players, only Sehwag is still playing in domestic cricket.

A total of 30 retired international players will take part in the tournament. Daniel Vettori is the only player from New Zealand to take part in the tournament. Rest of the top 8 test playing nations have at least two representatives each.
