Shreyas Iyer strikes 191 to pull Mumbai to 328/6
Hubballi (Karnataka), Nov 23 (IANS) Shreyas Iyer struck an unbeaten 191 to pull Mumbai to 328/6 against Gujarat at stumps on the third day of their Ranji Trophy cricket match here on Wednesday.
Mumbai still lagged behind Gujarat by 109 runs in the first innings with four wickets in hand in the Group A encounter.
Gujarat posted a healthy score of 437 runs in their first innings riding on Priyank Kirit Panchal's 232.
Mumbai began the day on their penultimate score of 58/3, with Iyer batting on 27 and hen went to hit a fine century that kept his team in the contest going into the final day of the match at the KSCA Rajnagar Stadium.
In Wayanad, Delhi bowled out Rajasthan for 221 in their second innings before reaching 51 for 3, chasing a target of 153.
Rajasthan began the third day on 19 for 1, and were soon reduced to 99 for 5, before Rajesh Bishnoi (89) battled them past 200.
But Delhi were themselves in a spot of bother in their second innings, with top order batsmen Gautam Gambhir, Unmukt Chand, Rishabh Pant all falling cheaply.
Delhi's hopes now rest on Shikhar Dhawan who was unbeaten on 35 at close of play.
In Delhi, Odisha have a good opportunity of winning against Karnataka.
Odisha's ended their first innings at 342, a lead of 163 runs. Karnataka were 244/6 in the second innings, with a lead of just 81 runs and four wickets in hand going into the last day.
In Nagpur, Tamil Nadu took a crucial first innings lead of 70 runs against Punjab at the VCA stadium.
They scored 354 in their first innings, in response to Punjab's 284.
Punjab posted 121/2 at the stumps in their second innings, a lead of 51 runs with eight wickets in hand.
