Sialkot Stallions cleared of match fixing
Pakistani T20 League side, Sialkot Stallions was cleared of match-fixing by the investigators citing “insufficient evidence” to support the allegations.
The Shoaib Malik-led team, had been accused of fixing a recent match against the Karachi Dolphins. The entire case was investigated by a three-man committee from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which submitted its report on Friday.
A statement from PCB read: “Insufficient evidence to support the allegations of unfair play. In case of new evidence the matter should be re-examined.”
Sialkot Stallions have already reached the semi-finals of the tournament. Allegations regarding match fixing were raised by former Pakistan batsman and cricket commentator Basit Ali in a match where the Stallions were bowled out for 91 runs.
