Simon Taufel and Aleem Dar to officiate at World T20 final

Colombo - Australia’s Simon Taufel and Pakistan’s Aleem Dar will be officiating as the on-field umpires in the World Twenty20 final between hosts Sri Lanka and West Indies here on Sunday.

This will be the last time Taufel will be officiating in an international cricket match as he announced his retirement last week.

The 41-year-old has officiated in 74 Tests, 174 One-Day Internationals and 33 T20 Internationals.

Austrlia’s Rod Tucker will serve as the third umpire while England‘s Ian Gould will be the fourth umpire. Former New Zealand cricketer Jeff Crowe will officiate as the match referee.

The women’s World Twenty20 final between England and Australia, to be held just before the men’s match, will be officiated by New Zealand’s Billy Bowden and South African Marais Erasmus as on-field umpires.

New Zealander Tony Hill and Englishman Nigel Llong will serve as the third and fourth umpires while Sri Lankan Graeme Labrooy is to be the match referee.

The International Cricket Council announced the list on Saturday.
