SK Adda: Who should be left out for the 3rd Test after KL Rahul's century?

Sportskeeda Adda is where we ask you – the fan, the critic, the loyalist – for your take on cricket. In yesterday’s poll, we asked you on who should miss out in the 3rd Test after KL Rahul hit a century in the 2nd Test and your response has been pretty impressive.

Shikhar Dhawan got the maximum vote with 63%, followed by Cheteshwar Pujara with 31.5%. Both of them have been struggling over the past few months and it would be interesting to see who actually gets left out for the next Test. Only 5% of you voted to drop Vijay. The Tamil Nadu opener has, argubably, been India’s most consistent batsman over the last 40 months and he is expected to walk back into the XI.

With many of you coming up with your thoughts, here are some that we feature:

Shikhar Dhawan

Jason Aseer Roy: I think KL Rahul should have to open the batting with Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan will be dropped. The rest will be the same.

Aayush Uppal: Drop Dhawan. Pujara is the only player with two double centuries and Murali Vijay is consistent

Sumrang Nokbi: Shikhar should be rested if Vijay is in. Not only rested, but he should be dropped from the side and be asked to play domestic matches where he can organize his technique and come back to the side because it has been a while now that he has not been able to catch up with conditions outside Asia.

Nirwan Punn: They say Dhawan is a class player, but honestly I haven't seen much of his class. Fair and straight, drop Dhawan and open with Rahul and Vijay.

Lokesh Choudhary: I think Dhawan should be out. Murali Vijay and KL Rahul will make a better opening pair. Dhawan has been given many chances, but he is not consistent enough. In his place, a youngster should be given a chance. As far as Pujara is concerned, he should remain in the team, he has been doing well. In the last innings, he had a chance to score 50, but unfortunately got run out.

Cheteshwar Pujara

Agha Jan: Considering the present form of Pujara, he should be replaced for the upcoming Test.

Satish Kumar: Pujara. He scores very well, but this time he not scored for a while.
