SK Play of the Day: Temba Bavuma's brilliance catches David Warner short of the crease
Australia are currently playing against the South Africa in the first of the three-match Test series at WACA in Perth and the Proteas seem to be dominating the game so far apart from their ordinary first innings with the bat.
The South African batsman Temba Bavuma came up with a stunning throw during Austalia’s second innings to send David Warner back to the dug-out.
Check out the analysis of Bavuma’s brilliant throw by Michael Slater below.
Kagiso Rabada was hit for a boundary in the first ball of the 13th over by Warner. The next ball was banged in short by the pacer and Warner played with soft hands to drop the ball towards short cover. Bavuma who was stationed at point cut the angle, raced at the ball, picked it up one-handed and then threw the ball which resulted in a direct hit. Warner, who seemed to be pretty confident at the first instance had to walk off after replays showed him just inches short of the crease.
Bavuma's effort was outstanding given the fact that he directed the throw towards the stump airborne. He covered a reasonable amount of field very quickly and didn't wait to get on his feet before attempting the throw.

The South Africans were ecstatic after the third umpire decision sent the explosive opening batsman back to the pavilion. The Australian team, who had a terrible first innings with the bat, were heavily reliant on Warner to fire in the second innings in order to keep the game alive. The Australian team ended with 84 runs for the loss of two wickets at the end of the second session on day four of the first Test.
The fourth day of the play started off with some aggressive batting by the South African batting duo of Quinton de Kock and Vernon Philander. While the wicketkeeper-batsman was dismissed for 64, Philander seemed to be unstoppable as he was scoring on all sides of the park. Debutant Keshav Maharaj made things worse for the Aussies as he too joined the party and took the attack to the opposition bowlers.
