Sourav Ganguly, CAB reject 10 Lodha Committee recommendations
Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has decided to reject 10 out of the 21 Lodha Committee recommendations made by the Supreme Court. The directives were discussed during a board meeting on Friday.
CAB Chief Sourav Ganguly confirmed that suggestions for the proposed directives have been forwarded to the BCCI. He said, “We have discussed that matter and we disagree on a few points, we cannot disclose that as of now. Our suggestions have been forwarded to the BCCI.”
Sources within the CAB have disclosed the age and tender recommendation as the major issues. Our source said, “We don’t see any conflict of interest with government officials not being able to take the position of a office bearer within the association. We have already forwarded out recommendations and we are definitely against some of them.”
This comes at the wake of allegations against Ganguly, who is a IPL governing council member and also the co-owner of Indian Super League (ISL) franchise, Atletico de Kolkata. The other co-owner Sanjeev Goenka, also owns IPL franchise Rising Pune Super Giants.
The source added, “This has absolutely nothing to do with that, as it is a collective decision by the board. We hope BCCI finds logic in our counter arguments.”
The meeting was held at the CAB office with 90 members attending the 40 minute long session.
