Sourav Ganguly predicts Virat Kohli to become an all time great

Ganguly expects a long career ahead of Kohli

Heaping praise on Virat Kohli’s leadership skills and consistency with the bat, Sourav Ganguly has predicted a stellar career ahead for the 27-year old. Speaking to reporters during a function organized by Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), the former Indian captain also felt that BCCI will decide on Lodha Committee's recommendations.

Ganguly affirmed, “The BCCI will decide on the recommendations of Lodha Panel and we will work according to it only. Give us some more time as it will take time to resolve. Let’s see what happens in this matter.”

Currently serving as President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), he added, “Since the Supreme Court has given a decision on the matter, it is not proper for him to comment on it publicly.“

In response to the set of directives issued by the Lodha Committee, BCCI President Anurag Thakur and Secretary Ajay Shirke will meet the panel members on August 9 to formulate the next course of action.

They have been given six months by the Supreme Court to implement all the prescribed guidelines. Some of those include the appointment of a nominee of the Comptroller and Auditor General to oversee BCCI’s operations and an age limit of 70 for the office bearers.

Moving on to the ongoing Test series against West Indies in the Caribbean, Ganguly opined that the hosts were no longer the team that they used to be. However, he praised the Indian side’s dominant performance so far.

Impressed by the attacking mindset which Kohli has brought to the team, the left-hander believed, “He (Kohli) is a great player and will serve the Indian cricket for a long time. He will become the world’s all time great player.”
