Sourav Ganguly promises to 'change the lives of first class cricketers' as BCCI president
Former India captain and batsman Sourav Ganguly has been selected to be the new president of Board of Control for Cricket in India or BCCI.
On Tuesday, Ganguly arrived back in his hometown Kolkata after being chosen as the president-elect and was given a rousing reception at Kolkata airport.
After two days of intense boardroom negotiations in Mumbai, Ganguly emerged as the unanimous choice to be the president elect. The former India captain, who is currently the president of Cricket Association of Bengal or CAB, will take charge on 23rd of October.
Ganguly will become only the second India cricketer after Maharaja of Vizianagaramto serve as the president of the BCCI.
