Sourav Ganguly rates Mohammed Shami ahead of Zaheer Khan in the upcoming Test series

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has rated Mohammed Shami ahead of Zaheer Khan in the upcoming two-match Test series in the rainbow nation. He said that Shami would be India’s best bowler ahead of the first test scheduled to start on Wednesday at the Wanderers, Johannesburg.

Ganguly said, “I’ve seen Zaheer, Srinath in top form, but there are few bowlers like Shami to have such a rich mix of the seam position, the length and pace. I feel shami will start the series as our best bowler even ahead of Zaheer Khan. Shami has got the ability to be successful for a long period of time. We won’t get a better bowling condition than this. Zaheer is making a comeback. He needs a bit of time. It’s a big opportunity to create an impact.”

After getting thrashed in the one-day series 0-2 to the Proteas, India would be hoping to put up a better show in the test series. India will have to face the fierce bowling attack of South Africa in their own den. This is definitely the ultimate test for Dhoni’s men.
