South Africa vs India 2018: Indian team takes part in unique training session at Centurion
After the crushing loss in Capetown, the Indian team is involved in intense training sessions before the second Test at Centurion.
However, after going through the optional nets session on Wednesday, Kohli and his men were involved in a unique training session, which was aimed more towards mobility and cohesion rather than any skill development.
In the video posted by ANI, the Indian players can be seen in a huddle. They are also accompanied by the fielding coach, R Sridhar and can be seen with training bibs behind their backs. They then attempt to snatch the bibs tucked in by the other players.
Some players have yellow bibs while others have orange bibs. Some others do not have a bib at all.
The players without the bibs have to snatch the bibs and the players with the bibs tucked in have to pass it around to prevent them from doing so. It is not very clear as to what purpose this drill is serving, but the players can be seen enjoying in the video.
The Indian team were handed a crushing defeat by 72 runs in the first Test Capetown and they have quite a lot of decisions to make with respect to the playing XI.
However, if initial reports trickling out of Centurion are to be believed, KL Rahul is all set to replace Shikhar Dhawan while Rohit Sharma might retain his place ahead of Ajinkya Rahane.
Also, there is a selection conundrum over the position of wicket-keepers as Parthiv Patel looks to more suited to South African conditions with his counter-attacking batting, but Wriddhiman Saha's impeccable glove work behind the stumps has created a bit of a headache for the selectors.
The second Test begins at Centurion on Saturday, January 13 and if the pitch remains similar to Newlands, the Indian team has to put their best foot forward.
