South Africa vs India, 3rd ODI, Who said what: World reacts to India's dominating win
The Indian cricket team continued their domination against a hapless South African side in the 3rd ODI in Cape Town, winning the match by 124 runs.
Chasing 304 for victory, the Proteas got off to the worst possible start, losing Hashim Amla in the 2nd over. They recovered well with a decent partnership between Aiden Markram and JP Duminy.
However, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal once again proved to be too good for the South African batsmen. They picked up 4 wickets each and did not give South Africa a chance.
With this victory, India have taken a 3-0 lead in the series. There is no way they can lose the series now, but South Africa can come back and level the series if they win the next three games.
Here is how the players reacted to the match today:
Virat Kohli:
Well, did not start off well. For us to give ourselves a chance, I had to stay stuck in there. Another pleasing day, individually and from the team's perspective. The wicket got slower with the old ball. You had to get adjusted to the pace of the wicket. It got slower as the game progressed. If you lead from the front, it feels better. Few runs with MS and a good partnership with Bhuvi helped us. This wicket was not supposed to help the wrist spinners. These two back themselves. Today it was outstanding from them. We wanted to bat first and change things a bit. Having an opportunity, we would take the confidence into the fourth game. We would have our intensity lifted going into the next game compared to the last three games.
Aiden Markram:
Very disappointing. Yet again not upto scratch. Virat played beautifully and their spinners played a massive part again. But we managed to claw our way back. They are world class spinners. Our batsmen are struggling to pick their spinners. They are landing the ball in the right areas more often than not. Credit to them. If ABD would be back, it might serve as a massive inspiration.
