Speechly resigns as India Cricket Team physiotherapist
Evan Speechly, the Indian cricket team’s physiotherapist, has resigned from his post, citing personal problems. BCCI have appointed NCA Bangalore’s physiotherapist Nitin Patel as interim physiotherapist for team India.
“Speechly has resigned citing personal problems. He told us that his wife wasn’t well and needed to spend more time at home,” a top BCCI official told The Indian Express. “Till a new physiotherapist is appointed, BCCI has asked Nitin Patel to be with the Indian team.”
Speechly was also in charge of South Africa’s football and rugby team in the past. He joined BCCI in October 2011 on a two year contract.
He also worked with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
