IPL 2017, SRH vs DD: Delhi Daredevils (DD) Today's probable playing 11 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
The Delhi Daredevils have an uphill task in front of them on Tuesday as they will take on a rampant Sunrisers Hyderabad side in Hyderabad. The Daredevils have failed to gain any momentum so far in the tournament after their few victories at the start of IPL 2017.
The Sunrisers, on the other hand, have been in a terrific run of form in the past couple of matches having won both the matches after posting 200+ totals on each occasion. Skipper David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan and others have been in top form and it is because of their efforts that they are placed at third on the points table with 13 points.

However, things have gone downhill for the Daredevils so far as they are languishing at the bottom of the points table. Their players haven’t delivered and have always underperformed despite having immense potential. They have a terrific bowling attack, but their batsmen that have let them down this season.
The way they collapsed in the previous match for a total of just 67 runs proved that something is definitely not right with the mindset and temperament of their young and inexperienced Indian top order. If they want to produce a positive result in this match against the in-form Hyderabad side they have to perform to their potential and bring their A-game to the plate.
Let us now have a look at the predicted XI of the Delhi Daredevils for their face-off against the Sunrisers Hyderabad-
Openers
Sanju Samson has been one of the mainstays of Delhi’s top-order this season. DD’s batsmen have not delivered this year, but Samson has always provided consistent starts to the side. His century earlier this season was one of the best innings by an Indian batsman in IPL history. Although, he failed to fire in the previous match against the Kings XI Punjab having scored only 5 (14), he will be desperate to get back among the runs this time around; and that too against a challenging opposition like Hyderabad.
Sam Billings hasn’t produced anything of note except an innings of 51 runs in the earlier stage of the tournament. His performances this season are a surprise considering he is one of the best young international batsmen at present equally adept both against spin and pace. Delhi will be desperate to see him among the runs in this match as his role will be vital in the rest of the tournament.
Middle-order
Shreyas Iyer has immense potential in him as a batsman and he is in decent touch with the bat as well. He is always getting starts and scoring 20s and 30s, however, he has failed to convert them into big ones and hence will be looking forward to playing a big innings tonight.
Karun Nair (C) has had a horrific season so far with the bat. He was on the brink of getting dropped from the side, however, an injury to captain Zaheer Khan saw the management handing over the captaincy duties to Nair. He failed to make an impression as a captain in their collapse in the last match. But, he will surely be looking to perform well this time.

Rishabh Pant (wk) made a very good start to the tournament with an explosive innings of 60 odd runs and then followed it up with a couple of swashbuckling 30s. However, his form has gradually faded away with the progress of the tournament and he has been getting out for single digit scores since then. His role once again will be very crucial in this match.
All-rounders
Corey Anderson was bought by Daredevils this season after his spell with the Mumbai Indians but he is yet to prove his mettle as an all-rounder. His explosive batting and canny left arm medium fast bowling makes him a valuable asset for any side. Delhi will be looking forward to something big from him.
Chris Morris is Delhi’s most valuable player who is equally dangerous with both bat and ball. He has claimed 12 wickets and scored over 150 runs in the tournament so far. He has had a couple of bad games recently and will be looking to bounce back with a vengeance this time.
Bowlers
Kagiso Rabada has shown brisk pace and wicket-taking ability so far in the tournament. He is very lethal with the new ball as he has the ability to swing it a lot. Moreover, he is equally dangerous when bowling at the death as he is accurate with his yorkers too.
Amit Mishra is one of the best leg-spinners in the country and Delhi is surely blessed to have him in their ranks. His role will be very crucial today against the likes of David Warner, Kane Williamson and others.
Mohammad Shami is possibly the best among the Indian pacers at the moment. However, he hasn’t been able to replicate his international success in the IPL as he has often gone for runs. But, if the Daredevils want to win today, they have to somehow bring Shami’s A-game to the fore.
Shahbaz Nadeem is a more than useful left-arm spinner and was the leading wicket-taker for the past couple of Ranji seasons. However, the management keeps him out of the playing XI due to unknown reasons despite performing well. It seems that he will find a place in this match as he can counter the explosive batting line-up of the Sunrisers.
