SRH vs PBKS highlights, IPL 2024: 3 moments that generated buzz among fans in Match 69

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a clinical four-wicket victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 69 of IPL 2024 on Sunday (May 19). The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad hosted this riveting contest.

PBKS won the toss and chose to bat first. The opening duo of Atharva Taide (46) and Prabhsimran Singh were terrific, providing a strong start to the side. They added a 97-run stand in less than 10 overs, which laid a strong platform.

Prabhsimran slammed 71 off 45 and stitched a partnership of 54 runs with Rilee Rossouw (49). In the end, Jitesh Sharma (32*) boosted the total to 214. T Natarajan was the pick of the bowlers with two scalps for SRH.

In response, the SunRisers lost Travis Head (0) on the first ball of the innings. However, Abhishek Sharma joined hands with Rahul Tripathi (33) to put the team back on track with a 72-run stand.

Sharma smoked 66 off 28 balls, which released the pressure from the upcoming batters. Heinrich Klaasen (42) and Nitish Reddy (37) were the major contributors as SRH sealed the chase with five balls to spare.

With this victory, SRH climbed to the second position in the points table with 17 points and a net run rate of +0.414.

On that note, let's take a look at the three best moments from the PBKS-SRH IPL 2024 game.

#1 Taide-Prabhsimran provide a fiery start to PBKS

Left-handed batter Atharva Taide found boundaries consistently in the powerplay overs, particularly his shots straight down the ground. In the last ball of the fielding restrictions, Taide slammed a beautiful six towards the long-on region, which was the highlight of his 27-ball 46 knock.

On the other end, Prabhsimran launched an attack on SRH bowlers by charging down the wicket on multiple occasions. His imperious knock of 71 off 45 balls included boundaries towards the long-on and deep fine-leg region.

#2 Abhishek Sharma continues his blistering form

The man-in-form, Abhishek Sharma was electric with his performances yet again to fuel the SunRisers in the powerplay overs. The southpaw was sensational in putting the opposition bowlers under pressure, despite them securing the wicket of Travis Head early.

Sharma raced to his fifty off 21 balls with his counter-attacking approach and ability to pierce gaps successfully. The long-on region remained his favorite in this game as well, as he smoked multiple sixes. He finished on 66 off 28 balls, with five fours and six maximums and made the chase easier.

#3 Reddy-Klaasen guide SRH to victory

The pair of Nitish Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen continued the team's momentum where Sharma left off. Assessing the conditions well, Reddy and Klaasen were up to their task of pushing the team's tempo at the right time.

In particular, the 13th over saw both batters hitting a six each against Harpreet Brar, which helped them gain back some momentum. Klaasen (42 off 26) and Reddy (37 off 25) provided impactful contributions to pave the way for the SunRisers to win the game with five balls to spare.
