Sri Lanka defeated Australia by eight wickets in the second one-day international at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday to level the series.

The tourists dismissed Australia for 170 in 46.5 overs and then eased their way to victory for the loss of just two wickets with 59 balls remaining.

Lahiru Thirimanne hit an unbeaten 102 while Tillakaratne Dilshan made 51. Veteran slinger Lasitha Malinga took three wickets for 32.

Wicketkeeper Brad Haddin top scored for the hosts with 50.

The next game in the five-match series takes place in Brisbane on Friday.
