Sri Lanka Women vs West Indies Women ODI Series 2024: Full schedule, squads, match timings and live-streaming details
West Indies Women are all set to tour Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series, starting from Saturday, June 15 2024. There will be a three-match ODI series, followed by a three-match T20I series which will come to an end on June 28.
The ODI series will be played in Galle, with all three games scheduled to take place at the Galle International Stadium. The three ODIs will be played on June 15, 18 and 21. The action will shift to Hambantota for the T20I series, where Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium will host all games.
All games of the ODI series will be a part of the ICC Championship. Sri Lanka Women are having a miserable time. They are placed eighth in the table, having won only five games out of 18. West Indies Women, meanwhile, are placed seventh with six wins in 15 matches.
Chamari Athapaththu will continue to lead the Lankan side. The likes of Athapaththu, Vishmi Gunaratne, Harshitha Samarawickrama, Inoka Ranaweera are the experienced players in the side and will play a key role for them against the Caribbeans in the home series.
The West Indies Women, on the other hand, will be led by Hayley Matthews. Stafanie Taylor, Shemaine Campbell, Rashada Williams, and Shamilia Connell are the other experienced players in the squad and will support Matthews.
Matthews had a stellar last year with both the bat and the ball in white-ball cricket, and will be looking to emulate the same in the upcoming series. Athapaththu, the Lankan skipper, has been the standout performer for them and it will be a battle of the skippers in the upcoming ODI series.
