Below is the list that shows the Indian batsmen with most Test runs opening the batting. Legendary Sunil Gavaskar heads the list with over 9000 runs as an opener. His opening partner during the 80′s, Chetan Chauhan also features in the list taking the sixth spot. However, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir are the only players in the list who are currently playing for India.
