Stats, Australia v Bangladesh: Australia defeat Bangladesh by 3 wickets in close encounter

Khawaja scored a crucial fifty to help his side chase down Bangladesh's total

In what was a must win game for both teams, Australia held their nerves to hold onto a close win against Bangladesh winning by 3 wickets. Bangladesh, after having been put to bat, put up a decent score of 156 on board thanks to some late hitting by in-form batsman Mahmudullah.

Australian opener, Usman Khawaja once again showed why he was in the squad ahead of Aaron Finch as he scored a responsibly made 50 to set the foundation for a comfortable chase. Although Australia lost a few wickets later on, they were able to hold on to ensure that there was no upset.
