A statistical look at batting records in last 5 years

A look at the last 5 years in international cricket clearly shows that Virat Kohli, scoring 19 hundreds and 48 fifties, has dominated One  Day International cricket while Kumar Sangakkara, with 18 hundreds and 34 fifties, has bossed the longer format.

Australia’s Michael Clarke, who has had a phenomenal last two years since becoming the captain, and Sri Lankan opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan have hit the most number of boundaries in Tests and ODIs respectively. 

While Indian captain MS Dhoni has hit the most number of sixes in Test cricket, Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, with 99 sixes, holds the record in ODIs.
