1928- The last time a pace bowler returned with better economy than Umesh Yadav’s 0.42 in this innings (min 10 overs). Bob Wyatt bowled 13 overs in a match against South Africa at Durban and gave away only 4 runs at 0.30 rpo. Umesh Yadav bowled 21 overs and conceded 9 runs.

16- Number of maiden overs bowled by Umesh Yadav off 21 overs – jointly the 2nd most maiden 6-ball overs for a pace bowler in Test (max. 25 overs). Fazal Mehmood bowled 19 maiden overs from his spell of exact 25 overs against India in 1955.

1911- The last time South Africa lost a test match by a margin of more than 337 runs. Today was their 2nd biggest defeat by runs in Test cricket. They lost a game against Australia by 530 runs which is the biggest defeat for them in Test cricket.

1- Number of instances before today’s game when India had won a Test match by a margin of more than 300 runs. This is their 2nd such win. On the other hand, South Africa has now lost a Test match by a margin in excess of 300 four times.

143- South Africa’s total in this innings after batting 143.1 overs which is the lowest in the history of Test Cricket for any team (min 110 overs). The previous lowest had been 159-8 in 111 overs, which also belongs to South Africa and came against Sri Lanka in a drawn game last year at Colombo. It was also the 4th innings of the game.

3- Instances when South Africa could not win a single Test match in a Test series of 3 or more matches since 1960. Previous both occasions have come against Australia.

4- Number of instances now for India when they have won at least 3 matches in a Test series without losing a single match. Last time, they defeated Australia by 4-0 in the Border-Gavaskar Series 2012/13.
