Virat Kohli's 23rd ODI century propelled India to a 35-run victory over South Africa, thus helping to level the five-match series 2-2 at Chennai. In response, AB de Villiers’ 22nd ODI century was not enough to lead the Proteas across the finishing line.

Here are some interesting numbers from the fourth ODI:

-  Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane were involved in their second century partnership in ODIs. The last century partnership they were involved in was a 213-run one against Bangladesh.

- Virat Kohli has now become the fifth batsman to score ODI centuries against all Test playing nations. He is in the elite company of Ricky Ponting, Herschelle Gibbs, Sachin Tendulkar and Hashim Amla.

16 - The number of ODI centuries that Virat Kohli has scored while batting at Number 3. Ricky Ponting with 29 and Kumar Sangakkara with 18 are the ones ahead of Kohli.

138 - Virat Kohli's innings of 138 against South Africa was his third highest ODI score. His top three ODI scores have all come in the sub-continent – 183 against Pakistan at Dhaka and 139* against Sri Lanka at Ranchi.
