Milestones for Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane with the bat and another splendid bowling display by Morne Morkel with three wickets for South Africa meant that the hosts are 403 runs ahead at the end of day 3 at Feroz Shah Kotla.

The hosts began their second innings on day three and are miles ahead as far as match is concered thanks to Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane’s 133* runs partnership. Both batsmen scored their fifties and India ended a day with score of 190 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.

21 - Number of runs Shikhar Dhawan scored on his 30th birthday. Virender Sehwag is the player who had scored highest runs among all Indian batsmen in Tests on his birthday. He had scored 90 runs against Australia on his 30th birthday at Mohali in 2008.

43.60 - Average at which Ajinkya Rahane has scored his runs in this series which is most compared to others.

49th - Number of times when two batsmen made 100+ partnership at Feroz Shah Kotla. Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli’s partnership was the 49th at Kotla.

218 – Number of runs scored by Ajinkya Rahane in this Test series is the most in the current series. Next to him is South Africa’s AB de Villiers, who has scored 215 runs in this series so far.

518 – India now have the third-most century partnership in Tests. England lead with 984, followed by Australia with 863, India are third with 518, West Indies are fourth with 517.

1999 - VVS Laxman was the previous No.3 batsman to score a golden duck for India in Tests against Australia in 1999. TRohit Sharma got a golden duck at no.3 for India.
