Stats: Last 5 results at Kingsmead, Durban - South Africa's Achilles heel

Can the Indian spin duo rise to the occasion?

In the past ten years, South Africa have only lost a Test series 3 times at home. Two against the mighty Australian side in 2005/06 and 2008/09 and one against England way back in 2004/05.

Though, off late, Durban is sort of becoming the Achilles heel for the mighty South African side. In the last five fixtures at Kingsmead, they have lost 4 matches with their only victory coming against West Indies in 2008.

When you look at the matches, you can observe a pattern which indicates that the opposition spinners have called the shots at the venue – Graeme Swann and Rangana Herath produced ‘Man of the Match’ performances while Harbhajan Singh picked up 6 wickets with a first innings spell that read 4-10 in 7.2 overs.

India stand a good chance to pull off a series victory if Ravichandran Ashwin or Pragyan Ojha spin a web around the Saffas.
