Stats: List of cricketers with maximum sixes in One Day Internationals!
Pakistan might have lost the first ODI at Bloemfontein against impressive South Africans by comprehensive margin of 125 runs, but their evergreen talismanic all-rounder Shahid Afridi entered the record books by becoming the first cricketer ever to hit 300 sixes -during his entertaining knock of 34 (16b 2×4 3×6) – in the history of ODI cricket. He reached the milestone when he pulled a short -pitched delivery from Rory Klienveldt for a six! This by no stretch of imagination is a mean feat as the second best is 270 sixes by the retired Sri Lankan opener, Sanath Jayasuriya, followed by India’s very own Sachin Tendulkar, who also retired from ODIs recently.
So a warm thank you to the greatest “entertainer” of our generation, Shahid “boom boom” Afridi.
