Stats: Most runs in a Tri-series
Faf du Plessis may have missed out on a hundred in the tri-series final, against Australia, at Zimbabwe, which his team comfortably won, but he managed to break a record of Sachin Tendulkar and is now highest run-scorer in a triangular series (maximum limit of 5 innings).
Put into bat first, Australia were restricted to 217/9 in 50 overs, courtesy of Dale Steyn’s brilliant spell of fast bowling: 10-1-34-4. As the innings resumed, Faf du Plessis continued his rich vein of form, scoring 96 off 99 balls, to help his team win their first multinational tournament title in 12 years. Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers chipped in with half-centuries, as well.
