Stats: Most runs in T20 cricket
With 6188 runs in 173 T20 matches, West Indian big hitter Chris Gayle tops the list of players who have scored the most number of runs in Twenty20 matches. Easily the most destructive batsmen in T20 cricket, Gayle has represented over 10 different teams including the Indian Premier League franchises Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Following him are veteran Australian players Brad Hodge and David Hussey; unfortunately though, unlike Gayle, these 2 players haven’t had a successful international career, partly due to the heavy competition for places while they were at their peak and partly due to them not capitalising on their chances.
Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma are the only 2 Indian players in the list at 7th and 8th spots respectively. On supportive conditions, Raina is probably India’s best T20 player at the moment, flexible and capable of donning any roles: be it as a No. 3 or as a finisher.
Rohit Sharma, despite being moved around with his slot both at his franchises and international team, has managed to score 4,613 runs
