Stats: Leading wicket-takers in India vs Australia ODIs

Can Mitchell Johnson become the leading wicket-taker down the line?

With 55 wickets to his name, Australian pace bowler Brett Lee has taken the most number of wickets in the One-Day Internationals between India and Australia. The fact that Lee has done so playing in a considerably lesser number of matches than those follow him on the list of highest wicket-takers speaks volumes about his greatness as an ODI bowler.

Mitchell Johnson, who is at a joint fifth spot with Glenn McGrath, is the only bowler who is within a touching distance. Johnson, 32 and with a great chance to cut down the lead in the upcoming bilateral series, if remains fit enough, can stake a real claim to the top spot in years to come. Meanwhile, Steve Waugh’s presence is quite bewildering. More than 20% of his 195 ODI wickets have come against India.
