108*- Runs made by Kane Williamson in the 4th innings of this match. It is only the 6th instance for a Kiwi batsman scoring a century in the 4th innings of a won test. Overall, it is the 14th instance for them.

1994- The last time a Kiwi batsman, before Williamson, scored a century in the 4th innings of a Test match in a winning cause. Last time, Bryan Young (120) and Shane Thompson (120*), both had scored centuries in 4th innings of the third Test match of the series against Pakistan in February 1994. The Kiwis chased down 324 against the bowling attack which comprised of Wasim and Waqar. Pakistan won that series 2-1.

5- Number of players to score a century in the 4th innings of a Test match this year. Kane Willamson is the 5th man and the 1st New Zealander to do so. He was the first New Zealander on this chart as well.

2009- The last and only time, before today, when a New Zealand batsman playing against Sri Lanka scored in excess of 100 in 4th innings of a game. In August 2009, it was Daniel Vettori who struck 140 at Colombo though New Zealand lost the match by 96 runs.

1172- Runs made by Kane Williamson in this calendar year in 16 innings – the most by a New Zealand batsman in a single calendar year. The record was previously held by Brendon McCullum who piled up 1164 runs last year in exactly 16 innings as well. No other Kiwi batsman, bar these two, has ever managed 1000+ runs in tests in a single year.

90.15- The batting average for Kane Williamson this year – 2nd highest for any batsman after Usman Khawaja’s 152 for his 304 runs. Williamson made 1172 runs from 16 innings this year. 11- Number of Test matches New Zealand has won under the captaincy of Brendon McCullum. This is 2nd joint most for any Kiwi Captain after Fleming’s 28, along with Geoff Howarth’s 11. Vettori with 6 Test wins as captain is third on the list. McCullum has also now featured in 30 Test wins for New Zealand, 3rd most for any Kiwi player behind Vettori in 34 and Fleming in 33.

100- Number of successive matches that will be against McCullum’s name since his debut in 2004, provided he plays the next match. His 99 matches are already a world record for most consecutive Test matches since debut, previously held by Abraham de Villiers for his 98 consecutive Tests. Also the number of sixes hit by McCullum in Tests – joint-most with Gilchrist. McCullum requires one hit over the fence to go past Gilchrist.

4- Number of players above Bredon McCullum with most consecutive Tests not necessarily from debut – Alan Border (153), Alastair Cook (120), Mark Waugh (107) and Sunil Gavaskar (106) are the four players above McCullum (99).

13- Number of successive Tests New Zealand have remained now unbeaten on their home-soil. This is the Kiwis’ joint most at home equalling their previous best streak from March 1987 to March 1991. Incidentally, last two games in that streak were also against Sri Lanka.

71- Runs made by Sri Lanka’s opening partnership in 3rd innings – which is the highest opening partnership for them this year. They went past 56 made at Galle in October against West Indies.

9/115- The returns of the match for Dushmantha Chameera. This is the best for a Sri Lankan pacer this year and 3rd best for any Sri Lankan bowler in New Zealand after Chaminda Vaas (10-90) and Muralitharan (10-118).
