Stats: Oldest players to score a century in Test cricket

Earlier this month, West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul scored a century against Bangladesh in the 2nd of the two-match series in the Caribbean Islands that the home team won 2-0.

The left-hander reached his century when he was 40.28 years old. The world record, however, is with Sir Jack Hobbs, who scored 142 against Australia when he was 46 years and 82 days old.

The only Indian player in the list is Vijay Merchant, who scored 154 against England back in 1951 when he was 40 years and 21 days old.
