Stats: Rohit Sharma leaves Yuvraj Singh behind on list of most T20I sixes by Indian batsmen

Riding on Rohit Sharma's scintillating 89-run innings, which saw as many as five boundaries and five maximums, India defeated Bangladesh by 17 runs in the 5th encounter of Nidahas Trophy. India's victory makes the last round robin match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh a virtual semi-final.

While the skipper led India's batting department to help them to 176, the youngster Washington Sundar (4-0-22-3) took matters into his own hands in the second innings and stifled Bangladesh. He bagged as many as three wickets in his first spell, which didn't allow the opposition to express themselves in the powerplay.

Though Mushfiqur Rahim (55-ball-72) scored a fighting half-century, his valiant effort wasn't enough for Bangladesh, who ended up losing to India for the second time in the tournament.

There were quite a few records made, and broken, during the match. Here are the most important of them:

1 - Washington Sundar became the youngest Indian player to bag three wickets in a T20I match, at the age of 18 years and 160 days, leaving behind Axar Patel (21 years 178 days).

2 - Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma climbed to the second position on the list of most partnership runs by opening pairs in T20Is. They have now scored 876 runs together and left the pair of Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson behind. The Kiwi openers have added 870 runs together.

3 - India's skipper, Rohit Sharma, en route his 61-ball-89, scored his joint third slowest T20I half-century in 42 deliveries. His slowest T20I fifty came off 44 deliveries.

5 - With five sixes tonight, Rohit Sharma left Yuvraj Singh behind on the list of most sixes hit by an Indian in T20 Internationals. Sharma has 75 maximums now in the format, while Singh has 74. Suresh Raina is third on the list with 54 sixes, while MS Dhoni is fourth with 46, followed by Virat Kohli at 41.

7 - India became the seventh nation to have 50 of their batsmen run out in T20 Internationals and Rohit Sharma was the 50th of those victims.

50 - With Liton Das's stumping off Sundar's bowling, Dinesh Karthik became the fourth wicket-keeper in T20 history to affect 50 stumpings after Kamran Akmal, MS Dhoni and Kumar Sangakkara.

500 - Raina, today, became the 500th time an Indian batsman was dismissed in a T20 International.
