Stats: Spinners make merry as India demolish South Africa in second ODI
India breezed past South Africa by nine wickets in the second ODI at the Supersport Park in Centurion. With this win, India lead the six-match ODI series 2-0.
After choosing to field first, the South African batsmen were never in the game as they struggled to score runs against the pacers and succumbed to the spinners. Debutant Khaya Zondo and JP Duminy top-scored for the Proteas with 25 runs each while Yuzvendra Chahal ended with figures of 5/22 and Kuldeep Yadav accounted for 3/20 as the Proteas ended with just 118.
Chasing 119 to win, India lost Rohit Sharma early for just 15 before Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli took the team home. Dhawan remained unbeaten on 51 while Kohli missed his half-century by just five runs.
