Stats: Most matches as captain in international cricket
Here is a list of players who have captained the most number of matches in international cricket. Former Australian player Ricky Ponting, who had the best career statistically as an international captain – winning percentage of 67.90, is at the top of the list, having captained his team in 324 matches. He is followed by Stephen Fleming and Graeme Smith at second and third spots, respectively.
Indian captain MS Dhoni, at an age of 33, has a realistic chance of breaking the world record considering the fact that he isn’t going to step down or forced to quit irrespective of the results of the team at least till the 2015 World Cup.
