Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the most number of fifty-plus scores in World Cup history, having crossed the landmark on 21 occasions across six editions of the mega event.
Coming in at a distant second is two-time World Cup-winning captain Ricky Ponting, who crossed the mark of 50 on 11 occasions. Two South Africans – Herschelle Gibbs and Jacques Kallis – are tied at the number 3 spot. Both right-handers crossed the 50-run mark in World Cups on 10 occasions.
New Zealand’s captain in the 1992 World Cup, Martin Crowe, shares the fifth spot with five other players: England’s Graham Gooch, Pakistan’s Javed Miandad, Australia’s Adam Gilchrist, West Indies’ Brian Lara and Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya - all of whom crossed the barrier on 9 occasions.
