Stats: Virat Kohli and Jayant Yadav break the record for highest 8th wicket partnership for India
The batting duo of Indian Test captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Jayant Yadav have gone on to break the highest ever 8th wicket partnership for India in Tests. Their partnership of 241 runs beat the previous best (161) which was held by two former Test captains Anil Kumble and Mohammad Azharuddin way back in 1996 against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkatta. This partnership of theirs is also the highest ever 8th wicket stand at the Wankhede stadium.
Kohli and Jayant were on a whole different level since yesterday. They decimated the English bowlers and have put India in a prime position to win the 4th Test and seal the series before travelling to Chennai for the 5th and final Test.
