Scoring 48 off 51 deliveries in the Asia Cup match between India and Sri Lanka at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, on February 28, 2014, Virat Kohli became the second leading run-scorer for India in the Cup history.
Virat Kohli also went past MS Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir, Shoaib Malik (all on 575 runs), Mahela Jayawardene (576 runs), and Inzamam-ul-Haq (591 runs) in the overall run-getters list. Sanath Jayasurya (1220 runs) is the leading run-scorer in the Asia Cup history.
