Stokes and Finn to return against South Africa, England squad announced
The England squad has been selected for the One-Day Internationals and T20Is against South Africa which starts next year. Ben Stokes and Steven Finn have both been called upon in the team whereas Stuart Broad has still missed his spot. Eoin Morgan will be leading both the England squads.
Both Stokes and Finn are also a part of the Test squad. The pacer, Steven Finn has recovered from a foot injury and Ben Stokes is returning from a shoulder injury. The series starts on February 17 with Five ODIs and Three T20s. The T20s will begin first.
With everyone eyeing the T20 world Cup, James Whitaker, the National Selector said that they the team still needs to improve and the series against the Proteas will be very crucial. The T20s will play an important role for them to finalize their squad for the upcoming major tournament which starts on 11th of March.
“The limited overs cricket played by this group of players in the last six months has been very encouraging, but we are all aware that there is still plenty of work to do. This ODI series against South Africa will be another important opportunity for these players to keep learning and developing their skills."
