Sunil Gavaskar denies rumours of him filing a complaint in the Supreme Court
Reports started to spread on the internet on Friday, claiming that interim BCCI president Sunil Gavaskar, who was asked to refrain himself from engaging in commentating and other media duties owing to his post, has filed a petition to the Supreme Court of India complaining that the BCCI has not looked onto that matter of compensating him as advised by the court.
The former Indian opener and the first man to score 10,000 Test runs denied making any such complaints. "It is an utterly mischievous story. Whoever has put this out owes me an apology,” Gavaskar was quoted saying to ESPNcricinfo.

The reputed cricket columnist and commentator was initially asked to preside over the head post of the cricketing body after N. Srinivasan stepped aside, only for the duration of the Indian Premier League. The Supreme Court has put stay on Srinivasan’s plea to return to the position, until the Mudgal committee, completes its investigation into the IPL fixing matters.
Hence, Gavaskar was advised to continue as President and the 65-year-old who is a regular in the commentary box with the broadcasters, has not commentated in any cricket match since accepting the responsibility.
The rumours stated that Gavaskar claimed that he has not yet received his money, which the BCCI owes him.
Despite being restricted from making a comeback to BCCI’s top post, Srinivasan was appointed as the new ICC Chairman after the body was revamped owing to BCCI’s protest.
