Suresh Raina

Indian cricket star Suresh Raina, according to reports, is set to tie the knot with the Meerut-born Priyanka Choudhary in a five-star hotel in Delhi on April 3, following the ICC Cricket World Cup final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on March 29.

"The World Cup final is on March 29 and the Indian cricket team is returning to India the next day. So, accordingly, Raina's bachelor's party will be held on April 1. The date for all the other ceremonies has been fixed as April 3. The engagement will take place in the morning of April 3 and the marriage, the same evening at a prominent hotel in Delhi," a reliable source said.

The source added that the wedding was originally supposed to take place on April 8, but with the 8th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) starting on the same day, they were compelled to prepone it to an earlier date.

Raina, who is currently in Australia for the World Cup, will dearly hope that he can return to India no sooner than March 30 having successfully defended the World Cup. The 28-year-old scored a majestic century against Zimbabwe in India’s last group stage match, helping them in the process have a 100% record going into the knockouts and will undoubtedly play a key role in the coming matches.

For that, though, the left-hander will have to be fully focused on his cricket and not be distracted by what is surely to be an important time in his life off the field. "Raina is too seasoned a player to be affected by all this. He is used to all this attention," his friend assures.
