Sussex bounce back with win over Middlesex to record first T20 win this season
Luke Wright smashed 81 off 49 balls to help Sussex to their first Friends Life T20 win of the 2013 tournament.
Sussex batted first and reached a hugely impressive 202-3 off their allotted overs. Hamilton-Brown and Nash who scored 47 and 45 respectively backed Wright up well. Smith had a late surge where he hit 21 off 12 balls which including 2 sixes. Middlesex bowler Tim Murtagh had an off day as he conceded 46 runs off his 3 overs.
In reply, Middlesex started well and were smashing it around from the off. 64 runs were on the board before the first wicket fell. They carried on strong but then Denly fell with the score at 101 and the wickets started to come thick and fast and they subsequently struggled to keep up with the required run rate. Yardy took 3-30 as Sussex eventually won it by 24 runs.
Both sides now have one win from two games and face a busy week ahead. Middlesex have three games in the next seven days and Sussex take on Surrey again at the Oval on Wednesday and then Hampshire at Hove on Friday.
