Sussex re-sign Dwayne Smith for T20
Mumbai Indians‘ destructive opener Dwayne Smith will continue to play for Sussex in the Friends Life T20 matches. Smith was re-signed by Sussex because he played an important role in Sussex victory in the Twenty20 cup final in the year 2009. Scott Styris is the other overseas player for Sussex in the tournament.
“I’m very happy to be joining Sussex again,” Smith said. “I can’t wait to get back to my second home and the lovely crowd at Hove.”
Sussex, who were knocked out in the semi-final last year, will begin their campaign against Surrey on June 28. Sussex manager Mark Robinson was pleased to have Dwayne Smith as he can win games single-handedly. “Dwayne has the ability to win games by himself with the bat, he is a more-than-useful bowler and he is one of the best fielders ever to have been seen at Hove. He is immensely popular with the players, the members and the sponsors and everybody is excited about his return.”
