Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024: Full schedule, squads, match timings, and live-streaming details

The 17th edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 commenced on November 23 and will run until December 15. This season also features all 38 senior state teams, divided into five groups, with three groups containing eight teams and two groups with seven teams. The teams are as follows:

Group A: Bengal, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Hyderabad, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Bihar

Group B: Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Saurashtra, Karnataka, Tripura, Baroda, Sikkim, Uttarakhand

Group C: Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh

Group D: Assam, Railways, Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Pondicherry, Chandigarh

Group E: Mumbai, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Services, Nagaland

Last season, Punjab claimed their maiden title, defeating Baroda by 20 runs in the final. Abhishek Sharma (Punjab) was named Player of the Series, Riyan Parag (Assam) was the top run-scorer with 510 runs, and Ravi Teja (Hyderabad) led the wickets chart with 19 scalps.

This year, the tournament is expected to raise the stakes with big names like Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel participating. Hardik Pandya also returns to play for Baroda after an eight-year hiatus, further intensifying the competition.
