Tamil Nadu Premier League player draft to be held tomorrow

Chennai will finally get a taste of some T20 cricket after CSK was suspended for 2 years

Chennai: The Player Draft of the inaugural edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) will be held at Crowne Plaza, Chennai, on Saturday, July 30, 2016.

The proceedings will kick-start with a press conference, to be addressed by senior officials of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) and TNPL, at 10.30 am. There will be multiple press conferences through the day.

The eight franchises will get to choose from as many as 888 players. A team can pick a minimum of 17 and maximum of 19 players. The players have been divided into three main price bands. They are as under:

(i) International players who have represented the Senior India team (Rs 5 lakh/Rs 4 lakh/Rs 3 lakh);

(ii) Players who have played tournaments conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India — multi-day/one-day/T20 format (Rs 2.50 lakhs/Rs 2 lakhs/Rs 1.50 lakh)

(iii) Other Players (Rs 1 lakh/Rs 75,000/Rs 50,000)

Additionally, three other lists will be presented to the franchises. These lists will consist of players (from various categories) eligible to play for Tamil Nadu.
