Tendulkar likely to play the second qualifier
Mumbai Indians opening batsmen Sachin Tendulkar is expected to play the second qualifier against the Rajasthan Royals. Sachin Tendulkar had injured his wrist in the league match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and missed the first qualifier against the Chennai Super Kings. But today, Sachin Tendulkar sweated out in net session despite remaining doubtful for the match against Rajasthan Royals.
Dwayne Smith, his opening partner, has said that Sachin has shown signs of improvement. “Hopefully, he will play tomorrow. He is recovering well,” Smith said at the match-eve press conference.
Sachin Tendulkar bowled his medium pacers in the nets and also played football with his team-mates. However, he did not bat so as to avoid the aggravation of the injury. “The normal recovery time for this injury is around three weeks, however rehab results in the past nine days have shown reasonable improvement and we are hopeful to get him back in action as soon as possible,” Mumbai Indians statement said.
