Tendulkar's three records that Kohli may never break
Virat Kohli recently won the hat-trick of awards at the ICC Awards for the year 2018. The Indian captain is the best in the business at the moment. He has scored tons of runs in all the formats and hasn't left any stone unturned in the past few years.
The right-handed batsman is the only Asian captain to win a Test series against the Aussies in their backyard. He has captained the national side in both the 50-over World Cup and the u-19 World Cup. In the ICC Awards held recently, he was also named the captain of the ICC Men's ODI and Test team of the year.
He was achieved more than he would have dreamt of, but the debate has always been about him and Sachin for the best ever player produced by India. He has left behind Sachin in a few records already, but it looks unlikely that he would ever be able to break these 3 records of 'The God Cricket.'
#1 Most runs in one-day cricket
Sachin Tendulkar has scored 18,426 including 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries in 463 matches at an average of 45. On the other hand, Kohli has 10,473 runs with 39 centuries and 48 half-centuries in 221 matches at an average of 60.
Kohli made his ODI debut in the year 2008 and already played over a decade for ten thousand runs. So, he will have to play another 8-10 years to break Sachin's record which does not seem likely at the moment.
Sachin also holds the record for most number of MoM awards. He has won a spectacular 62 MoM awards in 463 ODI matches whereas Kohli has 31 in his kitty and is 6th in the line for the most number of MoM awards in ODI cricket.
Tendulkar is miles ahead of everyone else in the list, the second in the list is Jayasuriya with 48 MoM awards.
