Tendulkar wants the selectors to take a call on his future?

If reports are to believed, Sachin Tendulkar is very worried with his lack of form recently and has notified the selectors to take a call on his place in the Test team. Incidentally, the team for the 3rd Test has been announced and it has been kept unchanged from the last 2 Tests, apart from Ashok Dinda coming in place for injured Umesh Yadav.

Tendulkar, who will turn 40 next year, has a meagre average of just above 22 contrasting to his career average of 54.60, with 51 Test hundreds and more than 15,000 runs under his belt. Sachin has been under severe criticism for his poor form lately and some raging debates have been going on for sometime whether India’s most successful batsman should hang up his boots.

The sources also said Sachin had a separate discussion with the chairman of selectors Sandeep Patil about the same. However, the sources said the selectors asked him to continue playing.

The ongoing Test series against England is level at 1-1 and the 3rd Test is scheduled to start on 5th December at Kolkata. We can only hope for his return to form sooner than later.
