1. Sachin Tendulkar scores record-equaling 81st first-class century:
Sachin Tendulkar equaled Sunil Gavaskar’s first-class record by scoring his 81st hundred and in the process completing a phenomenal 25,000 runs in first-class cricket at the Wankhede stadium, where Mumbai are taking on Rest of India in the Irani Cup.
2. Sahara Force India finishes last day of testing:
Sahara Force India completed its fourth and final day of testing in Jerez as Jules Bianchi shared driving duties with Paul Di Resta.
3. Australia beat England by 2 runs in Women’s World Cup:
Australia brushed aside current champions England on Friday to begin their Super Six section of the ICC Women’s World Cup cricket with aplomb. England fell to an agonizing two-run defeat as they tried to chase down 147. 17-year-old fast bowler Holly Ferling finished with figures of 3-35.
4. Kimi Raikkonen records best time during Jerez testing:
Lotus’ Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen drives during the third day of Formula One testing at the Jerez racetrack, on February 7, 2013 in Jerez de la Frontera. Raikkonen clocked the best time on the final day of Formula One testing Friday but Ferrari’s Felipe Massa remained the only driver to break 1min 18sec all week.
5. Rafael Nadal reaches the semifinals in his comeback tournament:
Rafael Nadal, playing his first tournament after a seven-month injury layoff, advanced to the semi-finals of the $410,200 Vina del Mar ATP claycourt tournament with a straight-sets win. The 11-time Grand Slam champion from Spain ousted seventh-seeded countryman Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-1, 6-4 and will face French third seed Jeremy Chardy for a place in the final.
6. British Open Winner Darren Clarke to take part in the Golf Premier League franchise at Pune:
A team-based golf event inspired by cricket’s Indian Premier League and starring a host of major winners tees off on Friday, with organisers hoping the “snappy” format will attract new fans to the sport. British Open winner Darren Clarke and two-time major champion Angel Cabrera, are among those taking part in the Golf Premier League franchise at the Aamby Valley golf course near the western Indian city of Pune over three days.
7. Cavendish wins 5th stage of Tour Of Qatar:
Omega Pharma team leader Mark Cavendish wears the silver jersey after winning the fifth stage of the 2013 Tour of Qatar from Al-Zoubara Castle to the Madinat al-Shamal City in the north of the country on February 7, 2013. Isle of Man racer Cavendish sealed overall victory on the Tour of Qatar on Friday after winning the sixth and final stage on the Doha Corniche.
